In case you weren't here yesterday, today's post is the second part to an awesomely successful shopping trip I took my client Lauren on last weekend.  She is starting a new job this fall and needs a wardrobe that gives maximum versatility.  Link up {here} and see all of the styles we found at the Loft in Rosedale Center.  Our next stops, Gap & Old Navy.

Style Catalog, Packing Roundup

This is what it all amounts to!  It took my client and I two hours put this all together, you and I about four days :)

Just in case you are late to the party, this week has been a series of posts all about packing up for a trip across the world.  But, not only getting all your outfits packed, getting in it done so that your suitcase isn't over the weight limit.  My client here flew over the ocean and then floated around in it on a once in a lifetime cruise.  Fashion Fix came in and worked through her closet to make sure she was packed smart and stylish.  You can read all about what we did on day 1 {here}, day 2 {here} and day 3 {here}.

Let's pull it all together anyways.

4 Steps to Packing:
1. What are the essentials?  Determine what you need.  For example; 1 pair of shorts, 2 capris, 2 dresses, 4 tops, 4 over layers, 1 pair pants, 1 skirt, and accessories.  At this point no specific outfits need to be in mind, just basics.
2. Next look through your options and choose what you are going to work with.  A yellow tee, striped tee, silk top, neon tank, denim jacket, printed dress, black skirt, etc.  You get the point, pick out the actual items that you determined were essentials.
3. Then the fun part, style.  Take all the essentials and start mixing and matching them to create multiple outfits.  What you are doing is creating a catalog of looks so that all you have to do is pack your list of about 20 pieces and have 30 plus outfits.  These looks should range from casual to comfy to dressy!  No look left behind :)
4: Write it all down.  Luckily you can enlisted Fashion Fix to assist, so not only will it all get written down for you, but it all gets photographed and emailed back to you in a PDF!  Here is what is looks like...

Style Catalog...Bling Around the Collar!

Day 3 of the Fashion Fix Style Catalog!  Well it could be day 4, but whose counting.  I landed safely this afternoon coming back from my adventure in NYC.  Don't worry pictures will be posted next week on the blog with my full commentary on all the fashion and shopping.

But for the time being let's chat about this fabulous blouse with all its jeweled glory.  As you are saying to your self right now "When would I ever wear that..." or "What would I wear that with..." I am giving you the answer!  Pieces like this stand out in a store and can be a stand out in your closet with help from a stylist.  What you need to do is just pair with more conservative layers and accessories.  Once you do that you'll be wearing it once a week!

This is the Tilda Rhinestone Top from the fab J.Crew, buy here!

No frills, just a great pair of flats.

Wear to work safe, a neutral jacket.

Wear to work fun, a bright jacket!

Wear it conservative, a navy cardigan.

Style Catalog...Bank on a Banker!

The blue banker stripe blouse is a staple I advise all my clients to have in their wardrobe.  It's obvious why...  Look at all these outfits you can make with it, and I feel this is just the tip of the iceberg for this piece.  Specifically I like blue stripes because as you can see it works with denim, black pants, and chinos.  You can only imagine it paired with green, red, yellow, orange, purple, etc.  SO pretty much every color can be worn with blue stripes!

This the J.Crew Perfect Stretch Shirt, buy here!

More ideas today on how to dress for a casual day with out getting asked; "Is everything okay?"  These are my favorite outfits because if you know me you know I don't like pants.  So anything in cotton with an elastic waist will end up in my closet.  Being able to dress these bottoms with pieces that keep me looking professional is a must!

Why These Work...
1. All pieces are cotton, you got comfort!
2. Animal print worn the right way adds just the right amount style.
3. Do a scarf instead of a necklace.  You are accessorized and cozy all day.
4. Metal rim sunglasses are classy and more mature than plastic.
5. Platform shoes are great for everyday style, not as fancy as a stiletto.  Or go with the suede flats, elevated look but not as fancy as patent leather.
6. Roll the sleeve and cuff the pant.  Showing a little wrist and ankle make an outfit more feminine.
