Lady Loves a Sale...

I am telling you ladies, this weekend keep you eyes open in those malls!  This is it, this is the last of it, those left over winter steals and deals will be no longer after this week.  Don't be afraid to pick through those clearance racks.  I know they look like there should be yellow tape up warning us of a crime scene but there could be something there.  Just look at what I picked up to be the final "piece de resistance" of my winter wardrobe.

Time Gone By...

I have been working in the industry for so long that it blows my mind to think about how much time I have spent in a mall!  What is also mind boggling is to see the morphing my body has taken through out the years.  I have pieces in my closet from when I was a size 16 to when I was a size 8, and the in between I can make work now.  Why do I have these things if they are too small or too big now?  I can't get rid of them.  My closet is like a time capsule of the past 9 years of my life and fashion trends I have dove into and can't let go of.  I don't think Stacy and Clinton would be to horrified....?

Here is one that I love and can't part with.  This was a super fine gage, australian wool suit I bought at J.Crew in one of my "full figured" phases.  Now when I put on the jacket I look like a kid playing dress up in a too big costume.  Still it's so beautiful and I love the color for spring.  So what do I do?

Well thank goodness the boyfriend style is in and hot!!!

Pop the collar, roll the sleeve, add a silk scarf, white tank underneath and we are out the door.

We had balmy weekend here in Mpls that brought us temps of 30 or higher!  The sun was shinning and ladies in the fashion of life were out in masses getting new threads for their winter getaways.  Which are right around the corner!

V-Day Craft Day...

I swear to you if I see one more gaggle of girls at Chino-Latino out for a Valentines dinner I will go bananas!  Which speaking of the banana split at Chino-Latino is to die for....

So instead of being a cliche this V-Day be a crafty gal.  Be someone who can share your love instead of lamenting about how you haven't met your love.

A lady in the fashion of life can appreciate her life, even if it's with out a hand to hold...

Here's what I did...

1. Take a brown paper bag and cut the shape of a heart out on top.

2. Decorate as your desire.  I use glitter puff paint!

3. Fill with treats.  Candy, chapstick, note cards, pencils, nail polish.... You know cute crap we don't need.

4. Punch two holes next to each other that go through the front and back of the bag.

5. Get ribbon and tie it through with a bow!

6. SHARE THE LOVE!!!!!!!!!!

How Do You Caucus...?

This year I have decided to be an adult.  Funny thought huh, it takes just over 30 years to get there.  One action I am taking is to understand and be involved with what is happening in my community and state.

So as we have it all parties in Minnesota held their caucuses last night, I went...

Wrapped Around Me...

This past week I met my soul mate...in furniture.  Tiel/blue/green is my new fav and color muse these days.  Our love affair began this summer when, well I can't exactly pin point the moment.  But I know it happened.  I was perusing the TJMaxx/Homegoods store on Hwy 7.  I truly believe it is the best one in the Twin Cities, you have to go!  Their homegoods section is so amazing and wonderful that I was over whelmed I almost turned around and left.

However, a lady in the fashion can look shopping in the face and laugh at its intimidation...

This is what I locked eyes with and never looked back!

Give me a good printed cardigan and give me a good outfit day.  Here's the trick though gals, make sure it's on a thick cotton or a merino wool.  Stay away from the thin flimsy cardis because they will stretch and lose their shape way to fast.  And if it's a cute one you will be wearing it all the time and it will go even faster...

These are great pieces to have in a wardrobe and they do so well over a pop of color, as seen below!
