Sunshine Yellow & Lipstick Red with Touches of Gold

I became obsessed with layering sweaters and blouses when I saw Tess over at Kokoon style the Princess Sweatshirt that way.  It haunted me for months, and I wanted to recreate her cute style so badly.  I was instantly on the search for the right pieces that would give me the perfect look.  And these crop tops that are half knit half silk/poly are all over the place, and I love them.  Unfortunately they don't love my shape right now, that shape being a round in the middle :)  They cut off in just the worst spot, highlighting the wrong feature!  Elongating the sweater with a long blouse gives it the perfect fit for me!

You'll be able to shop styles and looks that are the perfect fit for you too!  Join me and local stylist Amanda from Bella Moxie at the Second Debut Fall Fashion Party this Thursday!  Get your ticket now, and get your fashions Thursday.

I've Got The Blues

Even though the title to this article is a play on words (get it, I'm wearing two shades of blue...)  I really did have the blues this summer!  Early in July I took a big tumble off my bicycle (I say bicycle because when I say bike, the first question I get is "...a motorcycle?")  I separated my shoulder and sat on the couch for a good 2 1/2 weeks.  Which means that I can have an in-depth conversation with you about the t.v. show 'Weeds', and the dysfunction, or sanity as some might say, of the character Nancy Botwin.  Can we say #bingewatching :)

But I'm back on the wagon!  Styling, shopping, and posting, oh my!  Posting this week is dedicated to my besties at Second Debut.  They are hosting their annual Fall Fashion Party where you'll partake in exclusive styles, personal shopping, and light bights!  Two local stylist, moi and Amanda from Bella Moxie will be there to help you shop, style and have fun.

1 Outfit 1 Day 2 Ways

http://lifeinfashionwithlindaisy.blogspot.com/2014/06/1-outfit-1-day-2-ways.html

Like many of you, my days are not always filled with glitz, glamor, and gallivanting around from one fantastic thing to the next.  Yesterday my hours were scheduled for a Target run, going to the bank, waiting at the DMV, and hanging out with some cool kids in the afternoon.  Shorts and and a tank top it was; there was not even an accessory to be found on me.  But after all of that running around, I did have a rendezvous scheduled with some of favorite ladies at Bar La Grasa.  Obviously I wanted to be a little more put together for the the crowd at BLG.  Digging through my closet in a rush and making a costume change wasn't going to happen.  I already had enough on my to do list, stressing about clothes was not going to be another one.  So I took my day look to a styled night outfit.

Key Add Ons:

Layering with a blazer.  This gives a structured look that the knit tanks does not have on it's own.  Also the blazer is in navy, much more approachable than black and keeps the look casual.

Style is in the details.  Rolling the sleeves of the blazer shows off the striped lining and gives is a cool casual summer night feel.  The tiny tuck is essential, this breaks up the all the fabric and shows a waist line.

Accessorizing right.  A long necklace draws the eye in and compliments the line of the blazer.  Also, gold jewelery elevates any look.  A chunky bracelet is easy and a quick grab.  Wedge shoes, not as dressy as a heel but gives you the same 'night out' style!

http://lifeinfashionwithlindaisy.blogspot.com/2014/04/if-you-know-me-you-know-i-never-pass-by.html

If you know me, you know I never pass by the Target clearance rack with out taking a look.  This is where I find most all of my great deals, and they always land me compliments when I wear them.  When I share how much I spent, people are shocked :)  Remember these two posts, Style on Sale  & Style Still on Sale from earlier this year.  Everything I found was under $15, some things under $10.  The thing about it is, that Target is what we call a 'fast fashion' retailer.  This means that they are introducing new styles and trends faster and more often than you can keep up with.  If you are seeing it in Lucky, InStyle, or any other fashion mag you will see it at Target.  The good news for us is that these pieces have short shelf lives because what ever is 'in trend' for the next month needs room on the sales floor.

What I shopped this weekend.

One dirty little secret, prices are different at different Targets!  What you see posted here might be different at a store near you.  I shopped at the Target St Louis Park.  Also, some may be skeptical thinking that the good stuff on sale is only left/available in little sizes.  Not true!  I am a L/XL, 16 and each piece I pick was available in my size.

Fashion Fix Favorites

I am frequently asked by guests at the Styled Right Workshop, and clients - what's in my closet, what can't I live with out?  For the most part this list stays pretty true, sometimes things change and new items are added.  I often recommend my picks to clients, friends, and family.  Guess what, you're my friends and family too!  If you want to be a client, that can also happen - just link {here}!

1. J.Crew Vintage Tee - white and black are essential, if you want to get fun I love the neon pink and green too

2. Loft Leopard Belt - I wear this over dresses, with jeans, and skirts

3. Old Navy Rock Star Skinny Jeans - dark, dark, dark wash!

4. Steve Madden Ballet Flats - a nude shoe should be in every closet

5. Lia Sohia Efflorescence Necklace - pendant necklace are the best for elongating the torso and drawing the eye in

6. H&M Leggings - they have a high rise and never stretch out!

7. J.Crew Gold Hoop Earrings - classic piece of jewelry that can be styled with every outfit

8. Target Merona Crepe Dress - this dress get pulled out of the closet on the regs, I dress up and casual at least twice a week

Style on Sale! Still Under $15!

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/4415991/?claim=b4698rqx5fu">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

There was more than I could fill my cart with when I was browsing the clearance racks at Target this week.  Everything they had left was deeply discounted, most everything was at least 70% of the original retail price.  A big misconception is, that what is left on those scraggly racks isn't worth bringing home your closet.  I believe otherwise!  This is when and where I find some of the best things in my wardrobe, and they often get the most compliments.  I wanted to show you what I found, all under $15, and all things you can wear to work and to play!

The first couple great pieces I found that you can see {here}.

The other ones are here!

Black jackets are great to layer with bold color or printed tops, they help tone down the patterns.

Use tailored jackets to style up casual pieces like tees and boots.

Black and white patterns are great to layer with jewel toned colors.

A structured dress can go casual, minimize your accessories and grab flats!

Style on Sale; $15 & Under

The getting is always good in January.  Stores are liquidating any and all winter/holiday merchandise to make room for travel wear.  And it doesn't hurt to have a half empty store when conducting your annual inventory!  This means a couple of things, clearance sales are at their best right now, and if you haven't already gotten in on it you have limited time.  The best weekends to shop are right after Christmas and the New Year.  Don't panic there is more to come throughout the year.  You can track the best times to shop {here}, a previous post.

What's making it still great to shop is that whatever is left at this point, is at about 70% or more off of the original retail price.  Here is what I found this week still left at Target, obviously my favorite sale rack to shop.  I {tweet} about non-stop!  Every time I find something you find something, because I'm always sharing my deep discount deals!

If you are worried about wearing silk to work, dress it down with conservative jewelry and classic heels.

Make a silk tee an everyday piece by pairing it with casual shoes in a contrasting fabric, like suede.

Cobalt is a bold color, but compliment it with navy instead of black.

Cobalt is a great color for summer and looks smashing with gold accents!
