Resolve to shop small!

As a new year approaches so do new resolutions.  My goal for my clients is that we can work together to make goals for 2015 that not only make a difference for them, but also for their communities and families.  Not something a stylist would traditionally set out to do right?  But as you know the mission of Fashion Fix is "...to empower women and build confidence."  Empowerment and confidence can be found and built on many paths.  I believe one of those paths is to support small and local businesses.  It's easy to identify most of these in our communities.  Mom and pop shops, local boutiques, and more.  The small entrepreneurs and artisans that don't have brick and mortar stores are more difficult to find.  Think the Esty shop owner!

Hitting the mark with a hat!

We got it here in Minnesota!  Winter has arrived with about a foot of snow, icy roads, and chilling temps.  We must bundle up and still head outside to live our lives.  Although most days staying in and cuddling up with coffee and the Today Show sound like the better option.  But when you have some great fleece lined leggings and cute bright hoodie, going outside isn't so painful!  I am obsessed with this pink cowl neck hoodie from Wish Boutique, and paired with these cozy printed leggings what more could you want in a winter look :)

Where to find casual tops!

Sometimes you just need a good shirt, am I right!?  Not everyday do I want to, or need to, put together an outfit that has a million layers and crazy pile-ons.  Sometime I just want to throw on a pair jeans, a great top, and be out the door.  And when you have a cute top, there is little you have to do in terms of accessorizing and styling.  The top should just speak for its self.  This can all come together when your shirt has great fabrication, good fit, and interesting details.  Ahhhh... but where to find such a garment to buy?  Of course at Wish Boutique!

How to style a statement necklace 3 ways!

How to Style a Cozy Cardigan Without Looking Frumpy

Last weekend... I went shopping!  Surprise, surprise, I know.  And I'm sure it's not a huge shock that that I went with client Karin.  She is my best shopping gal pal because she is always up for trying new looks and loves a pulled together outfit.  {You can see previous shopping with client Karin here, she's a doll isn't she?!}  

We went to none other than Wish Boutique in Rosemount, my new found love.  It's that little shop where every cute cardigan, necklace, and scarf you've ever seen has probably come from.  They carry unique and on trend pieces you won't find at the mall, and never knew you could get!

One huge trend this fall is the cozy cardigan and poncho.  These are easy pieces to wear and fun to style.  They give you that comfy fall style, with out the frumpy lady look.  Remember comfy does not equal frumpy!  Small boutiques and one of a kind shops are where you are going to find these cardigans and ponchos in unique colors, perfect fits, and great prices.
