Fashion Fix Product Love :: Beautycounter [2]

I have quaintly title this article Beautycounter [2], because if you missed I already raved about my introduction to the amazing company earlier this week. You can see all that good news {here}. Fashion Fix Product Love :: Beautycounter

Okay hot mamas, we have been talking quite a bit about getting our spring fashion on. Making sure we have the 'must haves' of the season, learning how to wear the 'best colors', etc etc etc. The clock is ticking and the temps are ticking up even faster. [Literally, we just had DST and here in Minneapolis 60's are in the forecast!]

But what about the heart of our style, did we forget out that? Our number one accessory, the one we wear EVERY DAY? I haven't forgotten about it, in fact I have been prepping this style feature for a couple weeks now. If you haven't guessed yet it's my complexion, my skin!!! Jeez, these past few months have done a number on me and I have felt as dry and a desert. February is one of the driest months of the year, sucking the life out of our face. 5 ways to be a FUN YOU this year!

I know I know, technically 'this year' started last week. But when you are planning a wedding, running 2 business, and trying to decorate a new home I start my new year's goals this week :) As I have been working with clients, chatting with gal pals, and surveying facebook seeing and hearing people's New Year's resolution is unavoidable. I'm not complaining, I love it! I am obsessed with finding ways to discover a new you and setting goals to help you be your best you. The big ones are easy though right? Drop 10 lbs, read 1 book a month, take a picture everyday, blah blah blah. What about the small things, the things that give you that edge or pep in your step to accomplish the big things. Those changes count too, and sometimes they give you just the confidence and encouragement you need to tackle the 10 lbs you want to avoid!

Here are my top 5 ways you can be a fun and motivated you this year!

1. Pucker up and be bright! Wearing a bright shade on your pout is an instant mood booster, and style enhancer. We rarely dare to stray from the lip shine or gloss we wear on a daily basis, but when we do the confidence potential is limitless.

2. Buff, shine, polish, and get your nails done girl! Seriously, how embarrassed are you when you go to shake someone's hand, or give that presentation while noticing how chipped, cracked, and jagged your nails are. Having manicured hands makes major impacts on helping you to feel polished (no pun intended) and put together. Mind you, it doesn't mean you have to have color polish on all the time. Just file, clean, and buff at a minimum!

3. Wear red! I'm telling you, a pair of red shoes is life changing :) You could be wearing the most neutral/basic outfit, when you throw on a pair of red shoes your look becomes instantly styled and trend right. It's a safe and affordable way to start going outside the box when it comes to your dressing habits. Trust me, it's a gateway to getting more comfortable with tackling trends and styles that might be intimidating.

4. Snip to it and cut that hair! Long hair that isn't well maintained is a confidence, empowerment, and style suck. Long hair that is not styled lumps you a category where you look just the same as the 100 other women walking around you. And most likely it's in a pony or bun, am I right? Take the plunge shorten those locks to at least collar bone length. I promise, you will feel like a lady who knows how to take care of her self!

5. Get glowing! Now calm down, I am not suggesting that you need to fake and bake. I'm talking spray. Spray tanning has majorly evolved and offers a huge span of glowing options. I love to get a spray on that just gives my skin a dewy glow, not even a tan or sun kissed color. It's awesome to be able to do minimal make up and still feel like I have color to my complexion. In these dreary winter months it's a huge boost!

Put On Some Lipstick and Play!

I know that the right pair of shoes can change a woman's life. I've seen it happen, hello... Cinderella! But I've gotta say, it doesn't stop there. So many times I have wanted paint the town red with a pair of lips to match! Playing with color when it comes to your eyes and lips can be really really fund, and scary. I know you, you've grabbed the blue eyeliner or magenta lipstick time and time again only to put it back thinking to your self, "I can't wear that!" Not true my friend, not true

Beauty Debunked

I'm going to let you in on a little secret... I love not wearing make-up! There I said it, does that make me a target for having my stylist card revoked?! But seriously, when I go bare face it's as if I am letting my skin taste freedom. Not to mention it saves me time getting reading, I don't make such a mess in the bathroom, and half the time I have no idea what I'm doing! I can navigate the woman's clothing store blind folded, but put me at a make-up counter and I am lost never to be found again! That's why I depend on amazing ladies like Christine Degrammont and her MK Beauty Bar!

She has help many ladies know what they need an how to use it! My routine now; prime, paint, detail :) I always have handy the Mary Kay foundation primer, loose mineral foundation, bronzer, highlighter, and foundation brush. With at least these tools I can keep my look simple, keep my bathroom clean, and chances are I won't screw up, ha!

Skin Care, Aging, and Other Ailments!

So here's the deal. I'm turning 34 this month. Does that worry or concern me? The answer is no. I love my 30's, I couldn't wait to turn the page over from 29! I have no stress about moving along the aging time-line, it does not worry me at all! I tell you what does scare the living daylight out of me... MY 20'S! Are you kidding me! Let me tell you what I did in my 20's... Drank way too much, smoked way too much, laid in the sun way too much, stayed out late way too much, and basically did way to much damage to my skin. Now I'm trying to turn back the hands of time, erasing the lines left from the past, and thank goodness I have The Christine DeGrammont MK Studio & Beauty Bar pushing back the clock for me!

My regimen consist of regular cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing with the Time Wise collection from Mary Kay. (I mean, have you seen Mary Kay Ash, she's looking good. I'll take what she's having!)
