How to style a fur vest!

We did it.  Client Karin and I gave fairytales the bird!  Lol, not really.   We did however laugh a lot, hear great singing, enjoy a bountiful feast, have great conversation, and looked good doing it!  Karin and I had our selves a great gals night out on Thursday, heading downtown for a good meal and opening night of Disenchanted a Comedy Musical.

The best part is that it gave us both a reason to wear those pieces in our closets that we never have an occasion to wear.  I got to pull out my fur and leather vest and Karin busted out her leopard jacket.  We love our animal inspired pieces, but you know... they make a statement when you wear them.  So we were waiting for the right occasion, dinner and a show with your best gal pal, what could be a better time!  We got glam and hit up Bar La Grassa for some unbelievable pasta and cocktails.  Seriously, life changing food here!  Then we jetted down Hennepin Ave to the Illusion Theater for some musical satire.  The show did not disappoint, and we loved every minute of it!

Everything You Should Be Wearing This Fall

Do you go into panic mode every time you hear about or read "What's in trend this season..."  Running through your closet inventory, having anxiety over the pieces you don't own.  And then you already feel defeated not knowing where to go shopping for all of these 'in-trend' things!  Well let's all take a breath, get grounded, and get back to reality!

Keeping up with all the fashion and style news is exhausting, I get it.  Even as a professional I find it difficult to keep up, and end up going back to basics most of the time anyways.  But what you might not realize is that you probably already own most of the 'must haves', it's just changing the way you wear them that keeps them current and up to date!

All styles provided by Wish Boutique.

1. Layer, layer, layer!  Layers are always in trend, the more the better in some cases :)  I'm sure you have a black tee and cotton cardigan, right?  Just layer them up and add a splash of jewelry and you're instantly styled!

2.  Put a scarf on it!  Seriously, this accessory has transcended from being a trend to being a staple in every woman's wardrobe.  Layering a scarf with almost anything you own will give you a 'pinteresty' outfit helping you to feel cute and current!

3.  Texture can be tasteful.  Great jewelry or little leather is a great contrast to cotton.  A long metal necklace really pops against a smooth knit.  And get yourself in some leather!  Leather mixed with wool, cotton, or denim gives great contrast to any outfit.  This will help you feel styled and 'trendy'.

Still confused, don't fret!  Join me November 11th at Wish Boutique.  I'll be providing personal styling, teaching you how to maximize your accessories, and more!  Lite bites and give-aways will also be there for you to enjoy :)

How to Style a Cozy Cardigan Without Looking Frumpy

Last weekend... I went shopping!  Surprise, surprise, I know.  And I'm sure it's not a huge shock that that I went with client Karin.  She is my best shopping gal pal because she is always up for trying new looks and loves a pulled together outfit.  {You can see previous shopping with client Karin here, she's a doll isn't she?!}

We went to none other than Wish Boutique in Rosemount, my new found love.  It's that little shop where every cute cardigan, necklace, and scarf you've ever seen has probably come from.  They carry unique and on trend pieces you won't find at the mall, and never knew you could get!

One huge trend this fall is the cozy cardigan and poncho.  These are easy pieces to wear and fun to style.  They give you that comfy fall style, with out the frumpy lady look.  Remember comfy does not equal frumpy!  Small boutiques and one of a kind shops are where you are going to find these cardigans and ponchos in unique colors, perfect fits, and great prices.

Here's what we scored at Wish!

Loving everything you see!  I know, me too!  Make sure to mark your calendar for NOVEMBER 11THWish and Fashion Fix have a great big event planned for you.  Details will come soon.  You can expect give-aways, workshops, shopping and more!  Follow us on facebook for future announcements:

Mall of America Mania :: Part 3

Did you think I was done?!?!  Well of course I'm not, I'm just behind on schedule.  ROTFL!  If you've been keeping up this extremely drawn out series of posts you know that last week and this week I can not keep with anything!  Between teaching the Styled Right Workshop, going to fashion shows, and doing photo shoots this month I can't keep my head on straight!  I love fall fashion, but boy does it keep a stylist busy :)

So here she is, client Karin in all her beauty, featured in the last post of this Mall of America series.  If you missed it, I showcased this mom of 2 last week {here} & {here}.  You got to see great looks from Loft, Old Navy, and Cotton On.  Last but not least Karin I stopped into H&M and were greatly surprised with everything we found here for her.

I know, I know, you are dying right!  She is so cute and these outfits are fantastic.  I did my thing, but really Karin's confidence radiates through her and she makes anything look good.  So a few things:

1.  If you want to learn how to get that style confidence then you need to take the Styled Right Workshop by Fashion Fix.  Dates, times, locations, and registration links are {here}.

2..  If you want to get styled on an amazing shopping trip like this, visit the Fashion Fix website and learn more about becoming a client.

Until then, be a gal pal and share what you see.  If you know someone who love style then share this post with them on facebook, twitter, or google + .

Mall of America Mania :: Part 2

First I have to apologize for two things.  One being that some of these pics are kinda dark, sorry but the fitting rooms in Cotton On have horrible lighting.  But they still have great clothes :)  Second, I know it took till 3:30 in the afternoon the get these images up!  Whoops :)

If you missed it yesterday, I talked about my great friend and client Karin getting updated for fall at the one stop shop Mall of America.  I posted the first round of style shots from the Loft, see those {here}.  Next up Cotton On and my favorite... Old Navy.  You'll die, these styles are so cute and I was gushing over Karin every time she stepped out of the fitting room.  Just wait till you see the dress from ON, you'll know which one!

I know right, amazing!  Just wait though, we're not done!  Our last stop was at H & M, so come back later this week for the final round up of style shots.  A couple of house keeping items before you go:

1.  If you want to learn how to get that style confidence then you need to take the Styled Right Workshop by Fashion Fix.  Dates, times, locations, and registration links are {here}.

2.  If you want to get styled on an amazing shopping trip like this, visit the Fashion Fix website and learn more about becoming a client.

Mall of America Mania: Part 1

You may already have guessed that I am a Mall of America die hard.  I bob and weave through traffic of people, zip in and out of the best stores, and always score great style for clients.  Most think I'm crazy, because not most people would say they LOVE the MOA.  But I do!  It's a one stop shop for every thing you need to be styled right!

My latest voyage was with Karin, a client I love and adore.  Who you might remember from the Goodwill shopping trip, you can re-read that {here}!  She wanted a chic look for fall, with easy accessories and great staples!  We spent our time at the best stores that would score her this look.  The Loft, Old Navy, Cotton On, H & M, etc.  Too many great looks for one post, so here's a start :)

I know, I know, you are dying right!  She is so cute and these outfits are fantastic.  I did my thing, but really Karin's confidence radiates through her and she makes anything look good.  So a few things:

1.  Tune back in tomorrow for more looks styled and shopped on our travels to the MOA.

2.  If you want to learn how to get that style confidence then you need to take the Styled Right Workshop by Fashion Fix.  Dates, times, locations, and registration links are {here}.

3.  If you want to get styled on an amazing shopping trip like this, visit the Fashion Fix website and learn more about becoming a client.
