Bachelorette...

CAUTION: May be offended if you are a fashion don't!

Some of you know I spent last week in Vegas with the parents.  My dad's parents retired there years ago and we went to visit my grandmother.  It may sound like a drag but my dad knows his way around town and my mom is a shopping diva, so we had fun.  I also learned how the play the Craps table, I may have found my new obsession...

As expected my little eye spied a lot of interesting members of the human race who made interesting fashion choices for their Vegas celebration.  Most seen was the infamous bachelorette party.  I just died every time I saw some poor girl who dressed as if had no self respect and daddy issues that haven't been resolved (yup, I said it).  There is no need to look like a pound of sausage stuffed into 1/2 pound casing.  Please Please Please stop dressing like an extra in Showgirls.  Pull it together and use the above images as a guide line.

Why these looks work...
1. Get to show off legs.
2. A-line skirt give flirty playful look.
3. Sparkles should be on the clothes, not your skin.
4. Bust line and shoulders are highlighted.
5. Belted or empire waist give you a sexy figure that is flattering.

Red Carpet to Your Life...

This is Real Life...
This is what I see in Claire's outfit...
-Open Neck Line
-Loose Drape
-Gathers At The Waist
-Gold Accessories
-Bright Color

This is how YOU wear it...
-Brake it up into 2 pieces.  Find a tank that is a halter or scoop neck to give you an open neckline.
*Creating this look with a top and a skirt will make it an everday outfit and not so "red carpet".
-Find pieces that are made with a more delicate fabric or jersey cotton.
*This will give you the drape and cling in all the right places that make this look feminine.
-Add a belt.
*This recreates the gathering Claire has on her dress and pulls you in at the waist to enhance your figure.

We look to Hollywood and Red Carpet fashion everyday to inspire us in our style. To often women get lost in translation. The Golden Globes was the kick off to 2013 fashion and what's to come. Let's see how we can achieve the glamor with out losing the original look!

What I see in Anne's outfit.
- Tailored Lines
- Slim Fit w/ Shape
- Simplicity
- Texture
- Clean Look

This is how YOU wear it.
- Strapless Top (peplum style, great for fuller figures too!)
- Bootcut or Slim Jeans
*These two pieces in these cuts will keep the look tailored with shape.  DO NOT recreate this look with flare denim or a blousey top, you will loose the clean lines.
- Button Earrings & Bangles, in Silver
*Small accessories in silver will keep the look monochromatic and simple.  Don't overwhelm the look with chunky jewelry or dangely earrings.
- Silver Sandals

#1 Save Face...

Here we are at the bottom of our countdown.  The number one beauty resolution for 2013 is to save our faces!  That's right, women are resolving to wash off their make-up every night and to moisturize daily.  Can you believe it, I thought we learned to do this at age 14?  But as it would be women from 25-65 aren't performing the regime as often as they should.  I know I'm not, whoops!

We know that keeping our selves hydrated inside and out is the best way to remedy and prevent aging and damage to the skin.  I often find that when I do this nightly I am refreshed and relaxed ready to slip in to a deep slumber for the night.  Also when we wash away the day we keep our pillow cases and sheets a little bit cleaner.  Think about it, sleep with dirt and make-up on then pillows get dirty.  Wash up the next night but going to sleep on the pillow you dirtied the night before, doesn't make sense.  Make the commitment today and keep clean in 2013!

To help you get started we are giving away My Favorite Lip Balm from Bath and Body Works!  I suffer from chronic chapped lips and this has saved me!  Join this blog site as a member to be entered in to drawings everyday this week.  Prizes will help you get 2013 off to the right style!  Winners announced Monday 1/14/2013.

This week is all about how to kick your 2013 fashion & beauty into gear.  I surveyed women of all ages and walks of life and asked them what they resolve to change in their closet or vanity.  These are the top 5 responses I got.  To hear more about this topic link up to the podcast below where you can hear my interview on WCCO radio with Jordana Green!

#2 Get Organized...

The next resolution that almost topped the list is to GET YOUR CLOSET ORGANIZED!  This is my business and my passion, needless to say I wish it had made the number one spot.  Women are constantly saying "I have nothing to wear..." "What every happened to..." "I can't find my..."  My mission in this life is to erase those sentences from women's vocabulary.  First of all you need to have an orderly closet with your garments stored properly because this will help them live longer.  When you throw them on the floor, fold them incorrectly, hang them improperly you will damage the garment.  Save your self heart ache and money by taking care of what you own!!!

Second, when you have a system to how you store your wardrobe you will be able to find what you want to wear when you want to wear it.  Women lose so much time in the morning when getting ready and they can't find what they are looking for.  In addition, when your clothing is a mess you can't even see what you own.  That is when the biggest sin is committed and we say "I have nothing to wear..."  Trust me you have something to wear, you just can't see it when your closet isn't properly organized.  Even when you don't have a mess or you may not own a lot, having your clothes stored in the right order will help you see outfits to put together.  You will also see how to wear old things in new ways.

If you are called to action and need help, I am here!  Link up to Fashion Fix LLC and we will come rescue you from your wardrobe malfunctions!

To help you get started we are giving away Huggable Hangers!  Join this blog site as a member to be entered in to drawings everyday this week.  Prizes will help you get 2013 off to the right style!  Winners announced Friday 1/11/12.

The next resolution on the list women are making this year is to keep their nails manicured.  This is one of my favorites because I am resolving this my self.  What I have found is that when my nails are clipped, filed, and painted I feel like a lady.  My hair could be unwashed, no make-up, yoga pants and hoodie looking like I was dragged out of bed but, if I have on some Lincoln Park In The Dark on by O.P.I. I feel like a movie star.  I don't know what it is but when my nails are done all is right in the world.  Maybe it is because it's one thing that says "See, I do take of my self!  I know I am a fashion don't right now but look!  I painted my nails!!!"  (Excessive exclamations needed because when you are defending your self emotions are involved.)

Don't feel overwhelmed, color isn't always a must.  I love a good shiny clear top coat that protects my nails from chipping and breaking.  Top pick is Essie's No Chips Ahead.  This last almost as long as a gel manicure but easier to get off and cheaper!  If you don't believe me try it.  Challenge yourself to one week of nails done and tell me the results.  I promise you will see the difference!
