Shop Small...

So last night I made a midnight post expressing my miss of y'all.  I have not been paying much attention to the blog lately, sad I know!  Which btw, Man Friend walked in while I was writing last night's post and he was none to pleased that I was blaming the blog lull on him.  But he did not proceed to Dropbox those photos I need with any sense of urgency... Whoops...  (Still love him)

I know everyone really gets into Spring Cleaning, eh I could take it or leave it.  What I am hyped up for is Spring Shopping!  If you don't know already I love to share my shopping adventures with anyone who will listen.  It's an art, taught to me gracefully by my mom and aunties.  Seriously when we go shopping we are very select on who we invite to come with.  You need to be able to split up, get distracted by sale necklaces, pillage through bins of knick knacks, try things on you probably won't buy, and find things for others in the group they might not pick up for themselves.

Where's Waldo and/or Lindaisy...

I swear I haven't forgotten about y'all.  It's just another week of excuses!  Well I am passing the blame to Man Friend because he was supposed to Dropbox the pics we took for the next blog post and he has yet to do his duty.  But really I have been swamped with consultations and mixing my radio commercial (which you can hear on MyTalk 107.1 streaming live on-line or through a mobile app).  I am just here to say that fashion is still on my mind and styling your dreams is still my passion!  Talk soon my loves...

In the meantime...

Styled By A Child...

Jacket - American Eagle; Blouse - Loft; Jeans - Loft; Necklace - Lola; Belt - J.Crew; Shoes - Target; Bracelet - Loft

Have I told you how much I love my nanny kids!  Seriously so cute, can't even handle.  Specifically the little 5 year old just says the best things.  Every time she see anything with extra detail or beauty she gets my attention and says "...look Lindsey, it's fashion!"  I mean it, even silverware.  The other day she grab a fancy tea spoon out of the drawer to eat her yogurt with and it had a detailed handle with scalloped edges.  She held it up and said "...look Lindsey, it's a fashion spoon."  I just die over her.

She loves to hang out at my apartment and play with the mannequin, she is quickly learning how to be a great assistant stylist.  This week I let her take the lead and I was the assistant.  She did an amazing job, picking out every piece you see and dressing it on the manni too.  Now remember she is only 5 years old, so some of the details were missed.  But I bet there are some of you out there who dress your selves, look in the mirror and feel as if you were also dressed by a 5 year old!  We all sometime miss the details.

Here's What To Fix...

1. Tuck in your shirt, you are an adult and should be wearing a tailored look.
2. Open your jacket, let us see the top underneath and create you will lose the frump factor.
3. Cuff the sleeve, you will show the pretty blue hiding under the there!
4. Change out the glitter belt.  They are great for some occasions but not your everyday style.
5. Change studded wedges to sleek patent leather heels.  Elevates any outfit to a polished look.

Polka-a-Dot Pants...

Cardigan - J.Crew; Tee - J.Crew; Pants - Old Navy; Belt - J.Crew; Shoes - Target; Necklace - J.Crew

My apologize for my absence last week.  Every morning was filled with consulting work and meeting with clients.  And while the nanny kiddos were on Spring Break the afternoons were all about the Mall of America, Mirror Mazes, Twins baseball games, and indoor water parks!

While living my life last week this outfit made an appearance (or two)!  I was so excited to get this posted because I know so many of you are confused on how to wear printed pants and, well the polka-a-dots just add a level of fun.

Why This Works...
1. Navy print with navy print, and the prints are about the same size.
2. Yellow belt neutralizes the patterns, the same effect can be made with gold or tan.
3. Mint cardigan compliments the navy, which is the base color of this outfit.
4. Red shoes, because they go with almost everything and give you a splash of bold color.  Plus they compliment the yellow belt.
5. Geometric necklace gives the eye a rest from all the color and pattern going on!
